• Remote Public Relations/Media Specialist - Georgia

    This REMOTE position requires current residence in Southeast or Southwest Georgia. Responsible for promoting the mission and work of Wolfson Children’s Hospital of Jacksonville regionally through creative and impactful writing and media relations. Primary responsibilities include developing ideas, writing and producing content for a variety of channels including regional media relations, marketing collateral, website updates and social media contributions. Other duties include research and interviews, pitching and escorting regional media, coordinating with physicians and subject matter experts, community relations, and supporting other business development and communication initiatives as part of the Baptist Health Marketing and Communications team. This position reports to the Marketing and Communications Manager for Wolfson Children’s.  
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Research and interview sources for news stories, patient stories, and press releases
    • Write, edit and proofread content to assure it is clear, concise and accurate for digital and print channels, website, social media, and marketing collateral
    • Collaborate with communications colleagues to develop content ideas and plans that support various platforms, business goals and marketing needs
    • Support, maintain and grow relationships with regional media outlets
    • Help strategize, gather, write and edit content for Juice weekly newsfeed and Baptist Health newshub
    • Help promote, plan, execute and cover regional special events, as needed
    • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or English preferred
    Experience and Special Skills:
    • 3-5 years of experience writing and editing across print, broadcast, and digital platforms
    • Excellent writing, grammar and editing skills; Mastery of Associated Press style a must
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PPT) and Google Sheets
    • Strong written, verbal and organizational skills
    • Must be able to work independently (and remotely) and as part of a collaborative team
    • Can-do attitude with strong attention to detail and deadlines
    • Dependability, professionalism and flexibility
    • Able to juggle multiple projects and deadlines
    • Available to attend Baptist Health Team Huddles in person once a month (and to join via conference calls every Monday, 10:30 am-noon); and Wolfson Team Huddles (schedule TBD)
    • Passion for the mission and the work at Wolfson Children’s Hospital
    Physical Requirements:
    • Extensive periods of sitting and keyboard/computer work
    • Because this job will require escorting media, photo shoots, and covering special events, there will be long periods of standing and walking
    • Communicates effectively in person, via email, and over the phone
    • May on occasion be required to lift packages up to 25 lbs.
