    Job Title: Marketing, Communications & Events Director
     
    Location: Chamber of Commerce Office – Brunswick, Georgia
     
    Reports To: President of the Brunswick-Golden Isles Chamber of Commerce

    Primary Objectives:
    The position of Marketing & Events Director exists to communicate on a regular and on-going basis information about the activities and events sponsored by the Chamber, to keep members updated and informed on community issues and the Chamber’s position on such issues, if appropriate, to promote the benefits of Chamber membership and to encourage participation in the M2M Deals Program by Chamber members.
     
    The position is also responsible for coordinating the Chamber’s three primary fundraising events, The Chamber Experience, Annual Golf Tournament and Business Expo and for meeting the budgetary goals of each.
     
    Duties & Responsibilities:
    • Maintain a robust communications schedule to Chamber members and the public
    • Primary contact for the Vice Chairman of Communications and Special Projects
    • Coordinate all aspects of the Chamber Experience, Annual Golf Tournament, Business Expo
    • Seek sponsorships for various Chamber programs, events and activities
    • Fulfill sponsorship benefits for Chamber Champions and event sponsors
    • Compose monthly MemberNet newsletter and other membership correspondence
    • Primary coordinator and contact for the M2M Deals Program
    • Responsible for Social Media Marketing via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
    • Take photographs at various events for the purposes of marketing and promotion
    • Update Website as needed
    • Represent the Chamber of Commerce at functions as needed and/or assigned.
    • Attend group and committee meetings as needed and/or assigned.
    • Support administrative staff during absences as needed and/or assigned
    • Assist with various event registrations
     
    Qualifications
    • 5 – 10 years marketing, communications experience
    • Successful event planning experience
    • Ability to manage one’s own time, set priorities and meet deadlines.
    • Excellent communication skills: written, verbal and interpersonal.
    • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (including Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint & Excel)
    • Knowledge of operation of standard office equipment
    • Knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures and systems such as filing and record keeping
    • Highly skilled in planning, organizing, information gathering, customer service
    • Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy in written and verbal communications, record keeping and other documents
    • Ability to be flexible, adaptable, a team player, reliable, dependable and loyal
    • Ability to Multi-task
    • Demonstrate a high tolerance for stress, especially due to interruptions and meeting deadlines
    • Proficient in spelling, punctuation, grammar and other English language skills
    • Accurate typing
    • Follow set procedures, routines and lines of authority
    Status and Salary
    • This is a fulltime, salaried position, M- F, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm.
    • Limited evening and weekend work may be required.

    • Demonstrate good judgment in what to wear to work which should be conservative business attire and at all times be well groomed, neat and professional in appearance. Note: There shall be no visible tattoos, body piercings, extreme hair styles, etc.

    • Golf tournament lead coordinator
    • Chamber Experience lead coordinator
    • Business Expo lead coordinator
    • M2M Deals coordinator
    • Social media via Facebook, Twitter & Instagram (new members, share posts, share events)
    • Issue press releases on chamber events and activities
    • Promote Chamber Champions
    • Design/send out Monthly MemberNets via Constant Contact
    • Semi-monthly MemberNets
    • Update chamber website
    • Special communications from the president to the membership
    • Assist with membership luncheons, business after hours, political forums
    • Design ads for Brunswick News
    • Negotiate Media Agreements
    • Keep digital board in lobby updated
    • Send list of members to Georgia Trend Magazine monthly
