Today, we were proud to host the Third Annual First Responders Appreciation & Awards Luncheon, honoring the dedicated men and women who serve and protect the Golden Isles.

During the event, we recognized outstanding first responders through several awards, including the Community Hero Award, Service Without Boundaries Award, Award of Merit, Award of Valor, and Lifetime Achievement Award, while also honoring numerous Nominee Award recipients. We were also proud to present $85,000 in scholarships to 17 students from first responder families, with each scholarship continuing throughout all four years of college.

The Golden Isles received national attention this morning as Fox & Friends brought the Fox News America 250 Tour to Jekyll Island with a live broadcast from Tortuga Jack’s. The event showcased the beauty and coastal charm that make our community such a special place.

Our very own Chamber member, Tortuga Jack’s, welcomed viewers from across the country from its iconic oceanfront location, known as the home of the “World-Famous BIG Tiki.”, Brunswick-Golden Isles Chamber’s 2023 Small Business of the Year and was recently voted the “Sixth Best Beach Bar in the South” by readers of Southern Living Magazine in 2025. The morning also featured the Glynn Academy Terrors Cheerleaders and a special sea turtle release for Boba, a rehabilitated sea turtle cared for by the outstanding professionals at the Georgia Sea Turtle Center.
